Customer testimonials are more than just affirmations of satisfaction; they are narratives of genuine experiences that potential customers can relate to. In a world inundated with choices, testimonials serve as beacons of authenticity, guiding potential customers through the decision-making process.
Despite the evident importance of testimonials, businesses often encounter challenges in effectively collecting and showcasing them. The existing methods may be convoluted, lengthy, or lack the necessary engagement to encourage users to share their experiences. Recognizing this, the need for a seamless and effective solution to collect and showcase testimonials from users within a product has emerged.

Problem Definition
How might we: Efficiently capture and showcase both written and video testimonials within our product to provide potential customers with authentic insights from existing users, fostering trust and influencing their purchasing decisions for our new business?
The Design Process
Step 1 — Research
To gain insights into user behavior and validate the identified problems, a comprehensive review of existing marketplaces and secondary research was conducted. This involved a thorough examination of the review journey, user interactions, and the benefits offered by competitors.
The secondary research revealed the following insights:
- Users express frustration with multi-step procedures, indicating a potential barrier to participation.
- Users report difficulties in finding the review submission section.
- Integration of multimedia elements, especially video testimonials, stood out as a key differentiator,
- Users find it difficult in finding the review submission section.
Step 2 — Defining the scope
Next, I mapped all insights into three points of view:
- Buyer write review
- Buyer read review
- Seller read & respond to reviews
Step 3 — Brainstorming & Idea Prioritization
Here, the focus was on simplifying the journey, introducing diverse display options (carousel, grid, list), integrating testimonials from different platforms, categorizing testimonials, ensuring authenticity through verification, and facilitating users in providing video testimonials.
